How to Care For Your Potted Plants From Winter to Spring

Bringing plants into your home is one of the greatest joys of life. Once you start it is quite addictive, trust me! Nature is good for you, and filling your home and your life with plants, not only looks fabulous, it feels good. Plants have actually been shown to be good for your health. Having indoor plants around the home improves your happiness, indoor air quality and contributes to a sense of relxation and calm. Studies have shown that just one plant in a medium sized room (4m x 5m) will produce 25% cleaner air, and improve your mental wellbeing somewhat. Having 5 plants in that same room, will produce 75% cleaner air and increase your wellbeing by a whopping 60%! As a plant addict I can attest to that. Having a range of sizes and species of plants in your home is the key to success. But how do you keep your potted plants healthy during winter and into spring?
We have put together some tips below to help you keep your potted plants healthy and happy in the cooler months and into spring.

Tips on Potted Plant Care in Winter and Spring
You might think you have a black thumb, but caring for your indoor plants can be simple if you follow a few tips.
Go Easy on the Water!
Over watering is the biggest killer of indoor plants, especially during winter. It is easy to think that potted plants need constant watering. It is true that some need more water than others but in general plants in pots do not like wet feet. It can also increase the risk of pests, especially if they stay very wet for a period of time. Indoor plant pests and diseases are easier to treat if you catch them early, so make it a routine to check for any issues. If you notice the leaves are wilting or drooping, this can mean too much or too little water. This is confusing because it could be either! The main thing is to remember that if your indoor plants seem unhappy, don’t always assume that they need more water. Poke your finger into the soil first to see if it’s dry down to your second knuckle, before getting out the watering can. Remember soil around the top section of the pot can dry out very quickly but the soil around the plant’s root system can still be very wet.
Keep an Eye on the Foliage
Plants breathe through their leaves so not only do they look their best with clean, shiny leaves, but dusty leaves make it harder for your plants to be happy. During winter there can be an accumulation of dust as we tend to spend more time indoors. Give them a regular wipe down with a damp cloth to stop dust build-up. You can use a spray bottle to mist them gently and to give them a deeper clean, pop them in the shower every month or so, to remove any build up and make them look shiny and healthy. You can also put them outside in the rain for a wash or sprinkle them with the hose and let them have a day in the sunshine every few weeks or so. As we move into the warmer months of spring they will really appreciate this little holiday and reward you with spring growth.
Get the Light and Temperature Right
Some potted plants grow well in low light indoors, but others need more sunshine to be at their best. Learn about your plants before you bring them home, so that you can position them around your home according to their required light levels. It is very important during winter that you keep them away from heaters and blasts of warm air. I keep most of my indoor plants in rooms where there is the most light and we tend not to artificially heat or cool the room.
Keep an Eye on their Feet
It is important to remember that no plant is actually an “indoor” plant! They are made to be outside. Most of them just come from warmer places in the world and grow naturally in low light, so they are perfect candidates for indoor life. They also outgrow their homes at varying rates, depending on the plant. Re-potting can give your sad looking potted plants a new lease on life, particularly if their toes are sticking out of their pot! Heading into spring is a good time to re-pot many plants. Some plants like to be a little root-bound though, so check with your garden centre if you are unsure. Make sure you water newly potted plants in with a solution of Seasol (30 mL in 9 litres of water) to promote strong healthy roots and settle the plant into its new home. It has been my favourite gardening friend for many years.
Winter care
- Indoor plants grow much more slowly during winter, so you can reduce the amount that you feed and water them. Give them a half a teaspoon each of Seasol and PowerFeed per litre of water once a month through the cooler months.
- I take my potted plants outside each week in warmer months and each fortnight during winter, for a real treat. Once a month in winter I water them with a solution of 50mL of PowerFeed and 30mL of Seasol in 9 litres of water. Allow them to drain thoroughly before bringing them back inside.
- To make this easier you can use a bottle of Seasol Foliar Spray or Seasol Pots and Plants, which is in a 750 mL ready to use trigger pack, tailor made for indoor plants.
Spring Care
- In spring your plants are getting ready to burst with new life, flowers and leaves, and therefore need more food. Mix 50 mL of PowerFeed and 30 mL of Seasol in 9 litres of water and apply the solution to your house plants every two to four weeks – check the care for individual plants. Some have a higher need for feeding, especially those producing flowers, fruit and vegetables.
- Flowering indoor plants will perform best with a weekly dose of PowerFeed applied as a foliar spray (20mL per 9 litres of water) throughout the growing season.
- For ferns, palms and delicate plants reduce the application rate to 20mL of Seasol and 10mL of PowerFeed per 9 litres of water every two to four weeks.
- This is a great time to re-pot plants, especially if they are looking a little tight.
- It is also a good time to tidy up and prune any dead leaves from your potted plants to get them looking their best.
- Dust and wash their leaves and check if they need shifting to another spot with the warmer weather on the way.
Seasol
I have been a long time user of Seasol because it:
- Enhances root growth and therefore is ideal for when you are planting new plants or re-potting
- Stimulates flowering & fruiting for plants in your garden who are working harder to produce these for you
- Helps sick and stressed plants
- Helps to increase nutrient uptake, so when fertilisers are applied they are much more effective
- Helps plants to deal with heat (heater) and cold so is fantastic during winter
- Helps plants to cope with insect and fungal attack

My favourite potted plants are my herbs on my kitchen windowsill. They make my cooking tasty and they make my heart sing looking at their beautiful green foliage in my kitchen
My favourite potted plant are succulents. They highlight the beauty of my handmade pots. I love to watch them sprout over the tops of the small pots and turn my courtyard into Day Of The Triffids. With good potting mix, season and some power feed they could take over the world 😀
This product makes it just so easy to look as though you know what you are doing as it brings on beautiful lush growth. I use it regularly and always have great results.. I use on indoor plants as well as the plants that are outside and have been using it on the lawn as it always promotes good growth even when the conditions are harsh and the rain hasn’t yet arrived. I feed everything regularly and always get complements on how well everything is cared for so I must be a terrific gardener.
Potted cherry tomatoes will always be my favourite as was the first thing I planted with my now 4yr old! The look of wonder on his little 18month old face as we picked the first tomato and he bit into it-pure joy! He is still a little green thumb and drives all our gardening! My lemon tree 💕 I love all its different stages of flowering. My mum planted me one and I was bedside myself the first time it grew a juicy Lemon. If it gets stressed, or I do, I go out and water it and talk to it’s leafy goodness 😊. It’s very therapeutic.
My favourite is a succulent (a crassula I think). It was grown from a cutting taken from my Grandparent’s house just before it was sold. I’m hoping to get it big enough to give cuttings to other family members as a reminder of our wonderful Grandparents.
My gerberas are my favourite potted plant. They great me every morning as I head off to work with their beautiful colours, standing tall in the breeze on the back verandah.
My favourite houseplant is a little sanseveria I received from a friend a few months ago. I am so fortunate that last night it actually flowered on my dining table and filled our home with the most incredible fragrance!! Glad I took a few happy snaps because I believe from googling ‘flowering sanseverias’ that it may be several decades before she does it again 🙏
My favourite pot plant is a rose called Popcorn that was given to me by my mum from a cutting. It was in my great grandmother’s garden and I have never seen it anywhere to buy. It was attacked by mealy bugs in Autumn this year but with a repot and the help of Powerfeed and Seasol it’s back on the mend!

My favourite potted plants are Maiden Hair Ferns. My Grandma always had beautiful, prize-winning Maiden Hair’s and seeing her tend them carefully captured my attention. They’re so delicate and intricate. A real stunner!
My favourite potted plant is my birds nest, a Christine gift given to me by my mother which was a small three leafed plant just two years ago is now a massive masterpiece spanning over 1metre high and wide, with deep emerald green foliage. My secret to all my potted plants is ‘Seasol Sunday’. My ritual of watering all my plants with power feed each Sunday. It is amazing !! I feed everything Seasol including my herbs and vegetables.
My Phalaenopsis orchids are my favourite potted plants as Seasol keeps them flowering for weeks longer and the root development is fantastic.Phals are part of the family and make a great gift

My spider plant is my favourite indoor plant. She’s an old girl, around 30-40 years old. She has been passed down through many generations of my family. I’m the fourth women in my family to own her, and she is a truly living memory of the strong and capable women that have come before me. She has pride place in my bedroom and I have propagated many babies from her, in fact, one of the babies now looks over my daughters bed. What a beautiful legacy for my great-grandmother, grandmother and mother, who are all deceased.

My favourite potted beauty is my elderberry, with its amazing bee attracting flower and it’s wonderful medicinal properties!
My favourite potted plants are succulents. My house is dark and I constantly forget to water my indoor plants so I’m not the greenest of thumbs and my indoor plants often struggle to stay alive. Succulents are easy to keep alive on a sunny windowsill, AND I can upcycle the terracotta pots that my cheese dip comes in into adorable mini planters!
My favourite potted plant is my dwarf Shahtoot (Pakistani) Mulberry tree that I grow in a larger pot. I love it because, with little effort at all, it rewards me with long deliciously sweet berries. Yum!
My absolute fav is my treasured fiddle leaf fig ‘Oscar’ – I love him to bits. I was so nervous when my beautiful Mum gave him to me – so scared that I would ruin him – but he is big, beautiful, deep green and so happy in his corner in the sunroom – he makes me smile and content every time I walk past.
Without a doubt my favourite potted plant has to be my 30 year old English Oak! Year after year this knobbly young bonsai continues to grow slow and steady (as all oaks do!) giving me so much joy! Seeing him transition from deep green to shades of yellow and brown, with a winter debut of a hauntingly beauiful skeleton with the most stunning deep grey mottled bark is such an inspiration. Truly my favourite botanical treasure!
I have so so many potted plants but one of favorites is my jade trees . Somebody once told me to put one at the front and back doors and they will bring good fortune . I live in hope everyday or maybe what i already have is my good fortune and its worked already
Air purifying plants. In particular snake plant, spider plant and maidenhair plus ficus of course! Anything that reduces household toxins and freshens our air is a winner for me! We’ve gone a little plant made inside but with babies crawling around, we want to keep our home as pure as possible!
My favourite potted plant is a hoya that was given to me by a friend. It had been grown with love by her mother who had passed away and she wanted me to have as she knew how much I loved hoyas. My grandfather had one growing all around his hot house and it reminds me of him. it hasn’t looked back since I got it and I will treasure it always.
Lavender- I’m a brown thumb and kill lots of stuff. Lavender can handle a few dry spells if I accidentally neglect it 🤭, even without flowers, the foliage smells great. I use the flowers to put in ice cream, tea and yogurt. I also use the leaves and flowers in my chicken coop. One little plant gives so much.
I love my potted herbs and by potted, I mean wheelbarrow her garden. Its close to the house for easy access and has both plastic and metal tubs. I have dozens of different herbs but seem to use Rosemary, basil, oregano, mint and thyme the most.
my Favorite would be bromeliads. just a Large variety. They do well inside and outside with a bit of care. its very easy to get carried away and expand your collection every weekend. Thanks
My favorite indoor plants at the moment are my Phaleanopsis orchids. I have several that were given as gifts and the flowers last a long time. I think of the people that gave them to me when I see them everyday. They make my heart sing! For the first time one of my orchids is getting a new flower spike. I think I have finally found the right spot for it.
Most plant lovers would agree it’s like choosing your favourite child……I would have to pick the fabulous rather old fashioned Geranium! Geraniums would have to be one of the easiest plants to grow and take care of. They are virtually indestructible, can be located in the perfect spot or the crappiest spot and still be perfectly happy. They are tough, will survive most brown thumbs, even the “I forgot to water the pot plants” syndrome when you leave your garden in the care of family or friends! Given the current dry and drought conditions, Geraniums are likely to survive and still give loads of vibrant coloured blooms which will last long after they have first appeared. What is not to love about a plant that became a daggy grandma plant, fell out of favour with modern growers but has made a serious comeback to shine and be a favourite again!
I have lots of favourite ‘potted children’, from the maidenhair fern I rescued from the roadside to the vigorous potted fuchsia that came from a cutting in my mothers garden, through a stint at my country home, and has ended up in the city garden I now tend. For my favourite individual potted plant, I choose the one that I see every morning when I open my front door, a wee unassuming cyclamen. Its flowers are a beautiful intense mauve red, & was gifted by me to my mother for her last Mothers’ Day in 20014. It flowers year round, and is a ‘bellwether’ plant for all my potplants. If she is wilting, I know that all my potplants need watering & feeding.
My favourite potted plant is a large, beautiful maiden hair fern. It belonged to my mother. She loved her plants and had many of them. When dementia made it necessary for her to move into a nursing home she was very upset about leaving her plants. However, she was able to take one with her and that was her maiden hair fern. Unfortunately, it did not do well with the air conditioning so I took it to my home. I am reminded of her every time I look at it.
My favourite potted plant at the moment would have to be my tumeric. I harvested one of my plants this winter and was surprised at how much tumeric i got from it. I replanted a few of the pieces and am looking forward to seeing the first sign of green sprouting from them and also looking forward to seeing the beautiful flowers they produce.
Cyclamen are my favourite with their fascinating and very pretty flowers. They go outside in the winter but come in to cheer us up when they bloom and lucky for them, seem to thrive on neglect!
It’d have to be my potted selection of herbs. Putting them means you can have them right in the kitchen where you need them, and that also gives you control of the climate to help extend their season. You can never have too much basil!
My favourite potted plant is a tiny Swiss cheese plant that a friend cultivated for me from her bigger plant. I like my plants to come from somewhere and this particular one reminds me of my kind friend who loves her plants as much as I do.
It seems everyone’s favourite potted plant has some sentimental attachment and mine does too. It’s a peace lily given to me by my vet when my pet pooch Bonnie passed away about 15 years ago. It sits in my kitchen and is doing well. It’s a wonderful reminder of my friend and companion.
I can’t go past my lovely indoor orchids- their delicate and colourful flowers are beautiful and make me feel happy just seeing them in my house. They are truly remarkable indoor plants – incredibly easy to look after and they flower for months. I love these plants so much that I will often give them as gifts and hope that they bring as much joy to my friends as they do to me
Definitely the old classic Zanzibar. Durible, integral, fresh and healthy looking. Lasts forever, needs very little and grows fast providing easy opportunity for splitting.

My favourite pot plant, so hard to choose!!!! My kangaroo paw is ever so beautiful with the mix of being a flower and succulent. But my elephants ear plant is taking over and i LOVE it!!!
Love Cati for their spike, All 127 genera I do like with it’s 1750 known species, Easy to manage even for me, Love their flower which is beautiful to see, From the Ancient Greek κάκτος, kaktos the name comes and means a spiny plant whose identity is not certain. No problem with pests and need little water. What more do you want.
Orchids are lovely and brighten a room
I don’t have a favourite potted plant. I have many dwarf fruit trees in pots as well as a few strawberries. I use seasol regularly on my potted plants and in my vegetable patch.
My favourite potted plant is my long standing miniature avocado tree. It has produced any fruit yet two years on but good things are worth the wait!
My Venus fly traps! Not only are they unique and a great conversation starter when we have guests come around, they are also my pets! Each one has a name and collectively they are my ‘little buggers’.
my favourite potted plant is my jade. It was given to me after my cockatiel passed away, so i put it where her cage used to hand outside. Its like she is still here when i look at it. FYI love seasol products

My favourite potted plant is our ‘lucky bamboo’ because we were given it for our wedding and it’s so pretty! (We got married at Adelaide Zoo near the pandas!)
My 8 year old baby fern displayed perched in the hallway entry, the tumbling leaves draping, and waving hello as the door opens.
Aloe Vera. Hardy and green, handy and clean. These beauties are great for burns and their spikes look great amongst other leafy foliage.
My favourite potted plant at the moment is my Hoya. It’s waxy flowers are so beautiful and almost fake looking. Too bad it’s temperamental and hates everywhere I’ve put it so far…rescue it seasol!

Peace Lily. NASA weren’t wrong when they chose the Peace Lily as one of the top 10 plants for improving indoor air quality. Along with its beautiful appearance it makes my house a safer home.
My favourite potted plant I’ve had since I was a young girl and bought it with my birthday money from some coastal markets! All I know is that mum and pop called it an elephant ear and after almost 15 years it’s still going strong!
The Zanzibar plant because it thrives on neglect, so my ones are totally thriving right now! Now, that’s my kinda plant!
My beautiful Jade plant that my hubby gave me when we got married with this lovely quote, ‘ A part of you has grown in me. And so you see it’s you and me together, forever and never apart, maybe in distance but never in heart.’
My favourite potted plants are all the plants potted in my front garage by my mother, they thrive and will always be a gorgeous reminder of the love she has for gardening. She has always been the green thumb of the family and loves leaving me new plants each time she is up or taking cuttings from the garden to bolster the colours. There’s everything from orchids to one in particular she gifted from her own garden being a small yellow flowered ground orchid she calls a tiger lily. Can be grown in water or potted, simply beautiful.
My favourite is my moth Orchid. I received it as a gift for my first Mother’s Day 2 years ago. I’ve only had it flower once but I keep it alive and dust it regularly in hope it’ll flower again soon.

Love all plants potted or otherwise, but probably best in a pot for me is any cactus as otherwise they spread like a weed and this way I can control and contain them.
My silver lady fern as it’s delicate yet tough. Presents any room nicely, I have 6 inside, I can’t get enough! Majestic and so lovely, goes with any climate. This fern stands out through Winter to Summer, making our house look great.
I know fiddle leaf figs are going out of fashion, but I’m in love! Those huge glossy leaves and the huge, demanding presence is just so commanding. It really brings the outside in!
I have a little lemon myrtle: the perfect native all-rounder. The leaves give off a fresh and zesty fragrance and I make a mean lemon myrtle tart with them. You can also use them to soothe colds and to repel mosquitoes. The flowers are lovely too.

My favourite is a small succulent my daughter bought for me from her mother’s day stall. I took it to my office and since then have spent my days moving it across my office to catch the shifting sun from the 1 small window near my desk. Now my co-workers have started moving it for me on my days off! I know there are better places for it but it reminds me of her all day long.
I am so in love with succulents, I just bought a place and have succulents everywhere. They liven up a home, give it the earthy feel and are easy to maintain. I have too many different kinds to choose which is my favourite but the ones which flower with colour would have to be up there 🙂
I love Angelonia it is easy to look after and comes in lots of beautiful colours.
My favourite potted plant is the hellebore. We were given one nearly 2 years ago as a gift when my father in law died. It flowers beautifully and gives a spectacular display on the anniversary of his passing. A beautiful reminder of a great man.
My fave house potted plant is my bonsai ficus. I love him and he brings me joy!
I adore Maranta Kerchoveana, the prayer plant. I love the way the beautiful pale green leaves, dabbed with purpley/maroon markings, curl up at the sides in the night time, as if they are praying. Feels really lovely around them too, they have a calming effect. Just beautiful.
I love a potted Cacti. They have always been so fascinating in their peculiar appearance. They certainly feel as though they weren’t a part of any local garden, they’re true desert species so it is like having a piece of the desert in my home with me.
I love all plants but confess am not the greatest gardener although I do try! so a little, spiky Cacti is the perfect low maintenance plant to be responsible for indoors! At the least its practice.

I adore all of my potted plants but my favourite would have to be my fruit salad plant (monstera)! It started off so small with just two leaves and is now quite large!! I love watching new leaves growing, uncurling and changing from a light to a dark shade of green. I brings me so much joy!

My favourite potted plant would be the fig. Bonsai Ficus is my dream they are so pretty and prehistoric and I can see the grandkids… future thoughts!!.. building their dinosaur gardens under them and fairy villages and I could paint little clay mushrooms we make together.

My favourite pot plant is a snapdragon. They have so many gorgeous colours, don’t get too big, have flowers that last for absolutely ages, drop seeds that come up everywhere the next year and can be grown with other plants so when they die off no-one notices, then suddenly they are back again next Spring.
My favourite potted plants are my bonsai, many years of tender loving care produce magnificent results, a relaxing hobbies that I have enjoyed for years.

Peace Lily – Spathiphyllum Wallisii…I love indoor Plants as they add oxygen and clean the air of toxins and are perfect for those who are busy but still appreciate nature! My Peace Lily adds unmistakable living beauty with foliage and flowers to the inside of your house. Being indoors they definitely need a bit of additional help on the nutrition front and Seasol is perfect…
Wow! My plants in the patio have a chance now after reading this THANK YOU. Im off to get some seasol! lm not sure why l never though to feed them, they look so nice in the shops but dont florish at home, l havent killed one …yet!
I am the crazy succulent lady. I have over 160 potted on my verandah. The joy these brind as they change colour and all the flowers start to bud

I like my basil in a pot.
I like my basil quite a lot.
I like my basil nice and green.
I like my basil in pesto, pasta, pizza, pie… and ice cream!
I love my spider plant – kept in a pot, it won’t get out of control, and it’s a lovely chunk of foliage indoors that thrives no matter what you forget to do, plus it always bounces back quickly if you forget to water it for 2 weeks or something.
I love my lettuce bowl pot plant growing on the window sill outside of my kitchen ready for fresh pickings.
I have put it inside in a slightly larger pot so when I feed it some Powerfeed Veggies fertilisers it retains all those goodies and nutrients.
The only probably is I can’t eat enough lettuce to keep up with it! 🙂
My favorite potted plant is my Bowen mango tree. I love my tree and yes, it is in a pot. It’s my favorite plant because everyone who noticed that I had brought a mango tree said that it will need to go into the ground to bear fruit, well… after a few years I can finally can say to them that I have fresh mangoes growing on my tree right now
We haves beautiful peace lily on the corner counter in the kitchen and an orchid that decided to flower by surprise of course some succulents (aloe Vera). Got inspired by Better homes and garden book from 1959.
My potted parsley in my terracotta potting. I have recently started vegetable gardening (in pots) within the past year has been a process of trial and error. The parsley is resilient enough to survive through my mistakes and constantly provides me with a fresh organic source of a delicious herb that I use a lot!
The tiny tomatoes that I grow in a pot, close to my back door. Each year, I get such bounty! I love to eat them straight off the plant, warm from the sun and bursting with delicious flavour. Definitely my favourite!
The lovely Peace Lily! It is excellent for removing alcohols, acetone, trichloroethylene, benzene, and formaldehyde. It purifies, humidifies and looks beautiful!
Roses in a pot – Roses are my favourite flower. They are the perfect flower – beautiful in every way. I love the shape of roses and their beautiful colours. Looking at them is like looking at a wonder of nature. The colours are so deep and pure. A white rose is the whitest white, a red rose is the reddest red. And the petals are amazing. The leaves make the flower look even more beautiful. They have a wonderful shape. The stem is also a part of what makes roses perfect. It is very strong so the rose will always stand tall and strong. All of these things are probably why so many people love roses. There really is no better flower to express love than a red rose.

My Phalaenopsis Orchid was a gift when my Dad died,
I thought it also wouldn’t survive!
On the toilet’s window sill it was then placed,
But the display it’s in now is simply ace!
Over 18 months without a bloom,
And now, it’s “boom”!
Every visitor comments on it,
It’s been a real patience test but now a hit!
I’ve had my potted Meyer lemon tree for 35 years. Every house I’ve moved to it has come with me!

They sit in pots by my laundry window
bringing happiness to my least favourite room to go!
I am very attached to a Monstera Deliciosa that has lived with me in three different places now since 1979! It unfurls its new, shiny leaves like a huge face, unblemished and invigorated (oops I haven’t weathered quite as well) !! I have even had the privilege of eating its fruit which is absolutely delicious. We have seen tough times together, redundancy, student debt, frost, necessary pruning and more, and it still has its glossy disposition.
I love Indian Hawthorne because it’s tough, it withstands strong sea winds and rewards our love and care with a gorgeous floral display. We have a large rooftop garden the size of our apartment below, right on the beach. All our plants are in very large pots.
My husband was raised on a farm, then moved to a home set on a large suburban block.
We recently downsized so he’s dedicating his green thumbs to learning to grow plants in pots. He has mint, parsley, spring onions, basil and succulents in abundance.
Geraniums and petunias are adding a touch of colour but it’s the Indian Hawthorne that’s being nurtured, as we need some large plants to create this garden. With the help of Seasol products, that were wonderful for the garden at our previous home, we hope these plants in pots survive the summer!!

My bonsai! I brought it when I found out I was pregnant so it could grow along side me.
My Favourite are my Orchards, i love the colours, i could stare at them all day, and they last for a very long time. A friend gave it to me and i’m so glad she did, they are just beautiful.:)
Big Purple rose. One of the largest rose flowers known (up to 6 inches across) and a standout colour with an intensely fragrant perfume. Extraordinary!
My favorite potted plant is my ” Daughters gift” rose that was a mothers day gift a few years ago as it was given with love and keeps giving love
Thyme and thyme again potted herbs are in their prime, rosemary flavours dishes of meat to dairy. It’s wise to follow trends and sage is all the rage in burnt butter sauce and basil makes my taste buds sing and dazzle! Herbs have a special place in my heart because they guide me one step further along the path to sustainable living and anything I can eat, nourishes my soul, every thyme.
I can’t go past Silver Lady Fern – the name itself brings back so many nostalgic memories at my grandparent’s house, with their home filled with this lovely, luscious, green plant! The beautiful long, green leaves makes me feel like I am in some sort of enchanted forest! A plant that grows fast, bringing beautiful aromas in and around your home, as well as accentuating the features of any room!
Any plant really but I guess succulents would be my favourite. They look great and can be easily moved to another location when needed. Happiness in a pot that can be put anywhere to brighten things up. Whats not to love.
My Favourite potted plant is The “SENECIO ROWLEYANUS” its is such a pretty plant to look at and looks great in any room as decoration
My favourite potted plant is my little Tillandsia,
that’s growing from a hollowed-out wine cork,
that’s glued to a magnet,
that’s stuck on the fridge.
My favourite potted plant is definitely any of the ‘air plant’ species or devil’s ivy. Both my wife and I are shocking brown thumbs, and these seem to be the only ones that are capable of taking our abuse! It’s great to have greenery around without a huge amount of effort 🙂
I have strawberries growing in a pot on my window sill and the kids come along and pick a fresh snack to eat when they get hungry.
African Voilets have and will always remind me of my Grandmother – delicate and feminine, lining her windowsills in vintage teacups…
I rarely depart her house without a cutting from her treasured plants – my subsequent collection of violets and cyclamen are thriving… I often imagine us both tending to our plants in unison, though we love hours away – I know she’s so proud I’ve managed to keep them alive and well to date!

My favorite potted plant is my dwarf orange tree, she has been a wonderful addition to my garden for over 7 years, she doesn`t bear much fruit but I enjoy looking after this little gem more than any other potted plant I own, because when she does grow a few oranges every year it`s such a reward and we thoroughly enjoy them.
My favourite potted plant is a chain of hearts. They can be housed inside the house or out and have a beautiful curtian and stringed hearts flowing down. They are beautiful to look at.
