On Gallant Wings Longlisted in the Book Links Historical Fiction Awards!

I’m beyond excited to share that On Gallant Wings has been longlisted in the Book Links Historical Fiction Awards! The annual Book Links Award for Children’s Historical Fiction inaugurated in 2021, aims to recognize fiction that increases the understanding and appreciation of history by children.

A prize of $1000 will be awarded to a book that is not only an outstanding work of fiction but excels at increasing this understanding of history in children.

I am up against some incredible books and some of Australia’s best historical fiction authors so am very proud to be on this list.

This was one of my dreams for 2026! On Gallant Wings was also longlisted in the ARA Historical Novel Prize. It’s so great to see Australian stories receiving this recognition.

Congratulations to my fellow longlisters. It’s an outstanding (and slightly daunting!) list to be on! Thank you to everyone involved in the awards! Shortlist is announced on 1st June. Wish me luck!
