Shall we dance
With normality,
That strange place
Where everything feels
Comfortable
Predictable
As per usual?
Will we step out
Emerging from our cocoons,
Unfurling our wings
Unwrapping ourselves
To run to others
Waiting with open arms?
Will we find the spaces
We once inhabited,
Untouched
Unchanged
Hovering for us, as if
Time could press pause?
Or will we tiptoe
Gently
Cautiously,
With reverence and care
With new eyes
And careful hearts,
To discover
A better version of ourselves,
Looking forward
Looking back
Holding onto hope
For a brand new world.
