The Rebels of Mount Buffalo Shortlisted in Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year
I’m proud and delighted to announce that The Rebels of Mount Buffalo has been shortlisted in the Speech Pathology Australia Children’s Book of the Year Awards 2024! It’s a stellar list to be on! A very special award and one that changes children’s lives. Congratulations to my fellow shortlisters!
The Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards aim to ‘promote quality Australian books that help children get the best, most literate start in life.’
The goal is to promote children’s books as literacy tools, as well as raising awareness of the role speech pathologists play in helping children develop language and literacy skills.
The Awards:
- promote quality Australian children’s literature
- enhance awareness of the role speech pathologists play in language and literacy development
- encourage a love of reading.
Each book is judged on its ‘appeal to children, interactive quality and ability to assist speech pathologists and parents in communication and literacy development.’
I am thrilled to be shortlisted in this special award with my debut novel, alongside so many wonderful books. Thank you to my publisher Riveted Press and especially to Rowena Beresford for her belief in me and my stories and for supporting me to be the best writer I can be.
